A Message from the LF KS President:

On behalf of Learning Forward Kansas, I welcome you to another academic year of great learning opportunities. Learning Forward Kansas strives to share the importance of professional learning. Education is always evolving and providing new opportunities for educators to expand their knowledge in so many areas. In Kansas we are challenged to implement the Student Growth Model into our evaluation system, a new Accreditation System, Kansas Career Ready Standards/CCSS, Next Generation Science Standards, New Social Science standards and many more opportunities. With each of these come CHANGE and the need for effective professional learning that leads to successful student learning. Learning Forward Kansas exists and works to support Kansas educators with these changes.

We will be offering:
  • Pre-Conference during KSDE on October 20, Professional Learning that Moves Us from Knowing to DOING
  • Regional Learning Labs throughout the year, with the first one slated for Nov. 14th that will include the Pre-Conference content.
  • Learning Forward Kansas conference, "Bridge to Change... Closing the Knowing and Doing Gap" in Wichita on Feb. 3 & 4, 2015

I would like to personally invite all educators to join Learning Forward Kansas and become involved in these professional learning opportunities. I am challenging members to share the opportunities that Learning Forward Kansas offers and become involved in our many informational outlets. We are excited about all the opportunities that education has to offer and invite each of you to join us in the task of providing professional learning to all educators.
